Hello,
I want to change the motor in a KB 93 with a more little motor.
Someone did it? Where can I find some motors?
Possibly I don't want to give a kidney for a Faulhaber.
Thank You

Hi Fulviozzi!
No problem! Just order a MABUCHI motor at the Kleinbahn-production&store in Vienna 23., Gatterederstraße 4: Tel. 0043 (0)1 888 22 87
The engine costs I think 14 euros (excluding shipping costs). You just have to change the engine and put the cables to the right places again (!!! not so easy !!!)Maybe one of the members of the KB-Sammlerforum has got such an engine for you?!
Greetings, N.N.
Hello,
the Mabuchi motor is not that in the latest versions of the KB93?
If I am right it is more litle than the older big motor but it is also big. My Idea is to put a motor that remain under the lateral windows of the loco.
I had the idea to put the Buehler motor I saw in my 2062 but I don't know if Kleinbahn sell it with the big worm gear.
Thank You
Fulviozzi
In this case, I fear, You have to construct a completely new gear! Probably You can use the Buehler motor by cutting apart the double gearwheel and replace the unfitting half by a gearwheel, which fits to the Boehler worm gear.
Extremely important in this context is, that You use the same module, which is a measure of standardization for gearwheels.
Hi,
watching this photo, in the lower right corner I see a Buhler motor with big old worm, is possible?
This seems a 2062 chassis.

The Motor of KMB 77 looks like the same. I´l will give you the measurement of KMB Motor tomorrow.

Yes, there is a possibility to use the small motor of the 2062. MSE in Prottes sells Conversion-Kits
for the Kleinbahn 93 to make a 93 with proper cabin-size and a 392.
These kits include a plastic part in which you have to drill a M3-Thread and mount it with the
original Motorscrew of the 93.
Then the Motor is glued to this part with 2-component-glue. It fits nicely beneath the windows.
If you don't want to spend much money, you can make that part from a piece of plastic and a file.
Otherwise I would recommend you to make a 392 out of your 93 (which is a "not-often-seen loco")
and get a 93 of Roco (which is awaited in autumn this year) or Liliput (only fortune-tellers can say
when it comes to sale).
For the 392 on the pics I used a motor with brass-gear and a gearwheel from Klein-Modellbahn
which reduces the speed and gives a smooth control at lower speeds.
As you can see, the motor is mouted at an angel to fit under the cabin-window
Behind the motor is enough place for a decoder. I used a Tran DCX 51-2
Hope it helped.

with nr 11340. In the list of Mabuci named 11240.

Hello,
thanks to everyone!
I have a question for moles250
ZitatFor the 392 on the pics I used a motor with brass-gear and a gearwheel from Klein-Modellbahn
Which motor did You use? Or, better, from which loco did You take out it?
You changed also the first gear?
Thank You
Fulviozzi
P.S.What is that big piece of brass on the right of this photo?
@moles250

@moles250,
In the early days of the split of KB and KMB the 93 was sold by both. KMB only changed the gears.
You can order a gearwheel for the 93 from KMB. I used a motor of a KB 2062 and changed the
worm to a brass gear, but, as skipper said, you can also take a motor of a KMB 77.
The piece of brass is the front and back coupling hook. I mouted two NEM-coupling-holders instead.
The ÖBB 392 was a shunter and i want to mount automatic couplings from Krois.
@mucho
@moles250
hast du Fotos von dem Umbau auch?
@mucho

@arnold
