Hi dear friends,
below is the answer for my friend Manfred.
The two front side openings, where you can see white objects, I think are power switches that needed to be cooled in order not to cause malfunctions. So most locomotives drove around with their doors open.

Danke liebe Freunde,

Sehr interessant ! Ich hatte es auch nicht!

Hi all friends,
I present to you my latest work. It is a pair of twin models, the first is an E 550.5 locomotive built in 1908 while the second is an E 550.055 from 1913. They are two variants of the same machine as it appeared in different years, before and after the application of important changes. and both made by the Westinghouse company.
A real machine is kept at the MUSE (Museum of Science and Technology of Milan)
Both models use the same motorization, built on Lineamodel components, but have both a different case and different pantographs for the three-phase power supply. One is controlled and operated through a chain according to the Galle system while the second is pneumatically operated. The coloring of the first model is still according to the scheme of the steam locomotives while the second is chestnut brown and isabella according to the new scheme of the electric locomotives.
The two models are equipped with lighting that follows the direction of travel and already prepared in the future for digital power supply.
I hope they may interest you.
The next model? Waiting for other Italian three-phase models it will probably be the 1670 of the ÖBB made by Gerard many years ago .....

Beautyful. Is this a Linea Model?
-
Hi Wolfgang,
the black one is from a Lineamodel kit while the second is from Progetto Modellismo another italian kit producer. Lineamodel is the better of the two kits.

Hi Beppe,
I search this Kit :

But the contact does not answer.
Do you know who has the kit or the finished model?
Kind regards

Magari in futuro realizzerò qualcosa, mi piacerebbe molto.
A presto !
Beppe

Hi Beppe,
We are waiting for the future until that we take the picture of your nice models! In what duration was the black coloring of the locomotive?
Incredible pantograph!

Manfred -
Ciao Manfred,
the black and red paint have been adopted until the twenties when the italian railway company switch to the brown painted version.
Regarding the three phase pantograph they are a very intricated and complex component with a minimum of 40 pieces up to 70 pieces depending from the different version and solution adopted....
and obviously they are fully deployable and mouveable !

Good evening everybody,
I started the preparation work for the construction of two models of the ÖBB 1670
locomotive in the two versions: Epoca III or about 1960 and Epoca IV or about 1980
I am attaching two photographs of the same.
I have the problem of preparing and making the decals, as highlighted in the images, and I need to know exactly what is written in the braking table (I think it is called this way) and the writings on the small doors in the lower part of the case (for both the loco versions and for both the loco left and right sides)
Could anyone help me? I think an Austrian is needed ....
Thank you very much for all the help you can provide.
Regards,
Beppe
